Here it is late October and I am still wearing flip flops. The annuals are still blooming. I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again; I love Texas.

Another Southern discovery! Homecoming mums are aTexas tradition. My son was invited to homecoming at another high school by a friend and she gave him a mum to wear on his arm. She was wise enough to realize that he was a complete foreigner and kindly had one made for herself too.

We have been trying to experience and explore Texas every chance we get. We hit up the famous First Monday Trade Days in Canton Texas and while that was a whole story in and of itself it was what we saw on the highway that stuck with me most. This is something I can promise you wouldn’t see in the north.

Texas skies are as big and wide as Montana’s without the snow. They never disappoint.
